Coronavirus Update

If your child is currently absent due to a fever and/or continuous cough, the latest DfE guidance is that they should remain off school for 14 days. This guidance says that the whole family should isolate for this period - so siblings can not come to school.

Several people have asked about absence and whether it is authorised or not.

Authorised Absence = Illness
The child shows symptoms and must be in home-isolation for 14 days.

Authorised Absence = Exceptional Circumstance
Someone in the child's home has symptoms and so the household must self-isolate for 14 days.
Or the child has potentially come into contact with someone with symptioms.
Or the child is in a high risk group and vulnerable to infection.

Unauthorised Absence = precautionary withdrawal of a child to keep them away from possible infection, but no symptoms are being exhibited

This is not an exhaustive list and each case is considered individually.

We continue to ensure that we are doing everything possible to limit the spread of infection in school. The latest actions are:
*Most meetings in school have been cancelled
*Visitors to the school are expected to wash their hands on arrival and to follow our handwashing guidelines.

*Computer keyboards are wiped down with anti-bacterial wipes between uses.

We are working hard to keep the school running in a way which does not cause alarm to the children.

We will keep you updated as and when we receive information.
