Inspirational

Today we received the following message from one of our Y6 pupils, everyone at Newtown Primary is very proud of her efforts:

"I have previously climbed Snowdon and Scarfell Pike. I wasn't able to climb Ben Nevis this Easter so yesterday my mum persuaded me to climb the same height of the mountain using the stairs.

Ben Nevis is 1,345 metres above sea level. Our stairs are 2.8 metres in height. We climbed up and down the stairs a total of 481 times (14 steps each way). That means I climbed up and down 13,468 steps yesterday!

It took me 8 hours with lots of rest stops ! My legs ache. I want to move to a bungalow!

Below you will see the photos of my journey. I encountered a wild mountain animal on my way."

In the photographs you will also see two letters. One was written by the same pupil to a local care home and the second was the response she received.
