School Choir Through To Radio Devon Finals

Newtown Primary School’s KS2 choir is really excited to have been shortlisted for BBC Radio Devon’s ‘Star for Christmas’ competition. The choir’s performance of ‘A Spaceman Came Travelling’ is through to the final eight schools. The song will be played on Radio Devon over the next few weeks and will be opened up to a public vote on Friday 30th November.

The winning school will perform at Exeter Cathedral on the 18th December which will be recorded and broadcast on Radio Devon on Christmas Day.

Listen out for the choir on BBC Radio Devon and get voting! The children would love to have the opportunity to sing at the cathedral.

If you would like to hear the choir singing live, they will be performing at the Christmas Market at 10.30am on Friday 7th December. They will also be singing in our carol service on Tuesday 18th December.

A big thank you to Bryony Dingle-Jones, Julie Belshaw and Elaine Pullman for all of their hard work with the choir.
